About Me
I am a typical stressed out Mom who returned to work after many years at home with the kids. Community service occupies most of my free time as I am one of those people who takes the the cliche of making a difference to heart. While my kids groan when I give them the speech about the need to give back, they have been inspired by President Obama to "be the change".
Why I Love Hawaii
I love Hawaii because it is home. There is no place like it - where else can you have rainbow shave ice at a Native American pow wow, have a Passover seder with your Sri Lankan and Chinese friends, have your hapa kids and poi dogs be the norm and not the exceptions, and be surrounded by people who live aloha?
Interests
Being a helicopter parent to the kids, volunteering and working with the 100th Battalion WWII veterans, helping the Hawaii Dog Foundation rescue dogs, writing for fun and for publicity, crafting until the wee hours of the morning, dreaming of playing taiko, posting "snarky" blog entries and trying to figure out how to Twitter.
